We may have started our show season later than usual but finished strong.

Glamour Girl DBA started 4th level and after a few “chestnut mare” tests, ended up 5th in the Nation USDF HOY fourth level, and 3rd in Vintage Cup Fourth level.

We also attended Region 2 USDF Championships with student Shannon Venagas. Shannon and I both got a good ribbon in our warmup class and both placed 6th in our Freestyle championships, Shannon at First level with Galileo, GG and I in Third level Open.

Mary Jo Leveque’s lovely new horse Sandia, learned what the Dressage ring was for and earned many 70% plus scores in Training level with me and Intro with MJ.

The Western Dressage Association of America embraced Virtual Shows, and developed strict guidelines for video submissions that were used by all WDAA shows across the country.  It’s not as easy as it sounds. There are many challenges to making show videos at home.

Gallod Ffantastic and I entered many shows through the summer, and were undefeated in Level 4.  I also started showing Bazinga in the virtual shows in Basic Level. She was given many mid 70’s scores and won quite a few classes. MJ and I also competed with Sandia, getting great scores and comments from the judges.

With Covid still being a concern, WDAA make the difficult decision to hold the World Championships as a virtual show. It ended up being 3 times larger than a live show with entries from all over the World !!!

Gallod Ffantastic won 3 of the 4 division classes at Level 4, and we are Division Champions. Unfortunately his rider (me) made an expensive error in test 3, leaving out a movement and not double checking the test. We also won the Championships in Costume Freestyle and Open Freestyle.

My student Kim Greguska-Cannizzaro won an Intro Amateur class that had over 125 entries !!!

Bazinga did well too, placing 3rd, 7th, 8th, 17th in Basic level Open, with 60+ horses in every class. We also placed 5th in Basic Freestyle. She ended up 6th overall for Division Championship.

There were 2267 tests for 15 judges.

I’m looking forward to competing, helping my students, judging Western Dressage and Welsh,  and pursuing the requirements for my USEF “R” Western Dressage card in 2021.
